 τενοντίτιδα αντιμετωπίζεται συχνά στις μέρες μας κυρίως λόγω της εισβολής των ηλεκτρονικών υπολογιστών στη ζωή μας, αλλά και εξαιτίας της καθιστικής ζωής.

Πώς προκαλείται
* Η μυϊκή υπερλειτουργία είναι η κύρια αιτία της τενοντίτιδας. Όταν ο μυς "δουλεύει" παραπάνω από τις δυνατότητές του, ο τένοντας κουράζεται και δημιουργείται φλεγμονή. Συνήθως, τα άτομα ξεκινούν ένα πρόγραμμα γυμναστικής ή αυξάνουν το επίπεδο των ασκήσεών τους και αρχίζουν να εμφανίζουν συμπτώματα τενοντίτιδας. Ο τένοντας αδυνατεί να προσαρμοστεί στο νέο επίπεδο δραστηριότητας και αυτή η κατάχρηση οδηγεί με τη σειρά της σε φλεγμονή και τενοντίτιδα. * Μια άλλη συχνή αιτία εμφάνισης κλινικής εικόνας τενοντίτιδας σχετίζεται και με τις δομικές αλλαγές που συμβαίνουν στον τένοντα με την πάροδο της ηλικίας. Καθώς ο άνθρωπος μεγαλώνει, οι τένοντες χάνουν μεγάλο μέρος της αρχικής τους ελαστικότητας και ευκινησίας, κάτι που οφείλεται σε άγνωστους παράγοντες με πιο πιθανό, ίσως, τις αλλαγές στα αιμοφόρα αγγεία που τροφοδοτούν τους τένοντες. * Μερικές φορές υπάρχει και κάποια ανατομική αιτία που προκαλεί την τενοντίτιδα. Αν ο τένοντας δεν έχει στη διάθεσή του κάποια δίοδο μέσω της οποίας να μπορεί να κινηθεί, είναι πολύ πιθανόν να ερεθιστεί και αυτό να οδηγήσει στην πρόκληση φλεγμονής. * Ωστόσο, η τενοντίτιδα μπορεί να αποτελεί και το πρώτο σύμπτωμα κάποιας δυσλειτουργίας των νεύρων και των μυών.

Επιβαρυντικοί παράγοντες
Για να αποφύγετε τα συμπτώματα της τενοντίτιδας, αλλά και τους αφόρητους πόνους της, φροντίστε να αποφύγετε ό,τι επιβαρύνει τους τένοντές σας: * Την καταπόνηση των χεριών λόγω εργασίας.
* Την έλλειψη άσκησης.
* Τη λάθος άσκηση (όσοι προσπαθούν να αυξήσουν γρήγορα τον όγκο τους βάζοντας πολλά κιλά έχουν το αντίθετο αποτέλεσμα: δημιουργείται φλεγμονή, και σε αυτή την περίπτωση ο μυς δεν γυμνάζεται).
* Το υπερβολικό στρες (οι μύες βρίσκονται διαρκώς σε σύσπαση και δεν προλαβαίνουν να ξεκουραστούν).
 Αντιμετώπιση
* Ανάλογα με την περίπτωση, η τενοντίτιδα μπορεί να αντιμετωπιστεί με:
* Φαρμακευτική θεραπεία (με αντιφλεγμονώδη φάρμακα που χορηγούνται από το στόμα ή με ενδομυϊκές ενέσεις). * Με βαθιά υπεραιμία (π.χ. με παγοθεραπεία- τοποθέτηση πάγου πάνω στην τραυματισμένη περιοχή κ.λπ.). * Βασικό "εργαλείο" για την αντιμετώπιση τής τενοντίτιδας είναι η φυσικοθεραπεία, η οποία περιλαμβάνει ειδικές ασκήσεις φόρτισης και χαλάρωσης των μυών.
* Τοπικές εγχύσεις κορτιζόνης για να υποχωρήσει γρήγορα η φλεγμονή, σε περίπτωση που η άρθρωση κινδυνεύει να πάθει αγκύλωση.
* Στις χρόνιες τενοντίτιδες, είναι απαραίτητη από την αρχή η έγχυση κορτιζόνης, ακόμα και αν η κινητικότητα δεν έχει περιοριστεί.

Antoine Walker was born in Chiago. He went to MT. Carmel High School which is in Chiago. He played for Kentucky in college. He was a good pick for the Celtics after seeing how he shined in Kentucky there was no resisting. He is one of the best forwards in the league. How did he shine in Kentucky with the wildcats. He was the second leading in rebounding for the Wildcats and was averaging 15.2 points a game his sophomore season. He was honored by being named the All-Sec First Team and the MVP of the All Sec Tournament. He played in all of his games and started most of them. He was the cool guy on the court with his awesome Wildcats. He was not just a player he was an outstanding player. He was picked to the Celtics in the 1996 NBA Draft. He had not problem on his new Celtics team being named to the All-Rookie first team. By his second year as a professional basketball player he was proving to his coach that he was the best draft pick of his class. Larry Bird holds the record for the most points scored in Celtic history but by the second year Walker was already in second with 1,435 points
compared to Larry Bird's 1,745. He was just of the verge of becoming even better. Antoine was one of two players to be drafted in the 1996 draft and play in the 1998 All Star Game. He was a reserve after being in the top three power forwards in most categories. He was named a starter in the 2000 All Star Game. He is know for his abilities to play anywhere on the floor and to do it well. He was traded to the Dallas Mavericks along with Tony Delk in exchange for Raef LaFrentz, Jiri Welsch, Chris Mills and the Mavericks first round selection in the 2004 NBA Draft on 10/20/03.
