MANU GINOBILI REPORT

LOS ANGELES (NBA) - His nickname is batman and he is often seen flying through the air in Texas as well as in many other parts of the country, leaving spectators and opponents alike puzzled and confused.

However, last week it was Manu Ginobili who was himself left dazzled, as he witnessed a series of bright flashing objects flying across the Los Angeles skyline.

The UFO incident – known as the Silver Surfer sighting – was mentioned on Ginobili’s Twitter and Facebook pages, with the story spreading fast.

Then silence…

Until Monday, when it emerged that the unidentified objects were, in fact, Red Bull Air Force sky divers taking part in a night-time jump with flares.

“I was watching the news and I see them reporting on two UFO sightings in Santa Monica. The sightings were on 1st and 8th December. As soon as I saw the videos on the news I burst out laughing. It was us jumping with our night flares,” explained sky diver Jon DeVore.

With the famous bat incident, the birth of his twins, a big money contract extension and now a UFO sighting, it has been a busy year off the court for the Argentinean.

On the court he hasn’t been doing too badly either; averaging 20 points per game for the high-flying San Antonio Spurs, Manu is having his best season to date.

He’ll be hoping that by the end of the season he will have his sights shift from silver to gold, in the form of the Larry O’Brien trophy.
